Christopher Danley

Artist

Tattooing since: In 2007

I began an uninspired apprenticeship in a small street shop in New Jersey. Luckily one artist visiting from France took me under his experienced wing and imparted his knowledge before returning to France to open his shop.

Inspired by: I find myself inspired by people who march to the beat of a different drummer; John Waters, Dolly Parton, Angelique Houtkamp, RuPaul Charles, Elvira Mistress of the Dark AKA Cassandra Peterson, Lucille Ball, and Mario Barth.

Specializes in:  I currently specialize in dark and brooding female portraiture, dot work, and Trash Polka inspired tattooing. I also enjoy working on sacred geometry, botanical pieces, and anything bizarre, unusual, nerdy, or strange. Also, currently exploring the ancient art of hand poke or stick and poke tattooing.

First tattoo: The first tattoo I ever gave was a small tribal bat on a huge guy covered in over 50 flash tattoos decorating his chest. He was so large and imposing! To reach his chest I almost had to sit in his lap while he craned his head downwards watching every line I tattooed.

Song to get pumped to: My music tastes change quite a bit but I am currently enthralled with Die Antwoord and their song Baby’s on Fire. Gets me every time.

Outside of tattooing he enjoys painting, running, being a husband, and doggy daddy of three. He invites you to experience the difference at his shop, Tattoo Wonderland.
